How to love yourself: basic steps

How to love yourself? How do you do that??

The objective here: Love yourself. Love EACH and EVERY inch of your body. Wake up in the morning and feel happy of being you. Feel everyday grateful of being you.

Do you think this is possible for you? No?
Ok, let's start using that journal to help us with this.
Start by loving your body. I'm hearing you already..."But that is not possible! I hate my body! I can't possibly love all this fat and love handles! Well...If you want to get better you will have to do things you never thought were possible...Besides, if you don't love your body there is no way you will actually do something positive for it like loosing weight or feeding it correctly.

Shut down "the voice" and listen to yourself. I have never myself experienced "the voice". For me, it has been more like having an eternal conversation with another me. As if there were two Pams inside me. It is me an another Pam to whom I am explaining everything I do. Some other times this place is taken by someone I look up to in real life.

It is also very recommendable, to make a list in your journal of all those thoughts that make you think that loving yourself is impossible and try to change them for more positive ones.

Next, is to be sure that everything you do, is an expression of yourself and not a way to please or make someone else think how beautiful, intelligent, good, etc, you are.

I believe that loving yourself is a key element on ending the self-destructive behaviors (eating too much/eating too little/self-harm/smoking, etc).

If you love yourself, the most logic thing is that you end up treating yourself accordingly.

Other of the key elements to improve your food habits, is to consciously change your behavior towards food.
